the-protagonist.livejournal.comLately I have been inspired.
Inspired to write, inspired to paint, and inspired to cook. [Sadly, I haven't been inspired to do laundry, which is a shame as I have clothes the size of Mount St. Helen piled in my closet].
However, during my week of inspiration and after reading Teen Titans fan fic until unearthly hours of the night, I got an idea.
There is some amazing fiction out there, some of them more enjoyable then the cartoon itself [more satisfying to the Rae/Rob senses, anyway]. But, you really have to dig for that spectacular story. For every grammatically correct, stimulating plotline and in-character story, there are like, 14 stories that are either written, 'oMG LyKe Dis!11one!', or Mary-sue's [I would rather have a root canal then read one of these] or Goth!Raven suicide girl who's like totally hot, but ridiculed by all.
So I was thinking, why not make a web-site for elitist, lazy, b!tches like me?
Here is what I have so far:
- Submissions [art, stories, ect.] would be by invitation only.
- All Raven pairings would be allowed. As long as Raven seems to be in-character and fairly well written I am not picky who she is gettin' down with.
- All work will be Beta'd upon submission.
- Alt. Universes are cool too.
- No, I repeat, No Mary-Sue's.
- And I feel this has been summed up but, It would have to be Raven centered. So, like, no Beast Boy centered fics. Raven has got to be the Leadin' Lady.
And that's really as far as I have gotten.
Does anyone think this is a good idea? Or does anyone have something to add or say about it? I could use all the ideas possible.
I’m sure it sounds like I’m being mean; I don’t mean to be. I just think it would be nice to have really great Raven-centered stories all in the same place; no hassle.
And due to this being my brain child for the last three days, I have constructed a banner for the said website. Now I am no artist so lets be nice with the constructive criticism, ok?
