multi-chaptered AU

title: The Geography of Trust (1/?)
fandom; pairing: Teen Titans; eventual Robin/Raven
rating: PG-13 for violence and potentially disturbing psychological themes
summary: The Republic is Plato's utopian vision made real, and AEGIS (synonyms: success, elite, specialized; antonyms: failure) is its very own Praetorian Guard. There are shadows amongst all the brightness, however, and rot at the core of all the sweetness. All one has to do is stir a little, and all sorts of interesting things can come bubbling up.
notes: I have only a very minimal idea as to where this train is headed; I'm hoping it's not toward a crash (an uncontrolled crash, at any rate) and about the only thing I do know is that it will probably be horribly confusing and more than a little bit epic. I'm experimenting a bit with story structure, specifically chronology so do let me if something does not make sense. Much appreciated.
Oh, and this is an AU. Very very AU. You'll see what I mean.
disclaimer: I don't own Teen Titans, or any of the other canons that will be drawn from later on (I will disclaim each specifically as they pertain to future chapters). Inspirations drawn from Equilibrium, Witch Hunter Robin, Brave New World, Plato's Republic, and the Roman Empire. (I'm fairly certain I don't have to disclaim that last one, though I've certainly never owned it, so there you go. Disclaimed.)
(Part I: Induction)
