I wanted to get this started last week and just lost the time to work on it. These will probably start popping up on Sundays or Tuesdays as Monday is far too busy of a time for me. Havent seen any of these done in a while.. finals are nearly over so it would be nice to see some pretty fics to read.. I love reading them.. they get rid of stress from work.

Remember, you can always go back to past weeks and use a theme from one of them and your allowed to write as many fics for as many of the prompts as you desire so long as they are each posted in their own post to the community.

I'm in an Elvis Presley mood today. (And yes, I know I'm early. :D) So our very first theme is...
Lyrical: Burning Love
Out of the following lyrics, you must use at least three (3) consecutive words as your icon text. After (or before) those three words, feel free to play around as you wish with your text. Liberties such as changing "and" for "&" are also allowed.

Greetings everyone! I'm the new mod in charge of the icontest around here and I would like to give you a rundown of how our timeline will go.

Timezone: I will be using the GMT 8+ timezone so if we don't live on the same longitude, I suggest using the Time Zone Converter to find out what times you'll need to remember.

Timeline:

Friday (6PM GMT 8+)	Theme closed + voting post

Note: There might be some weeks where I might be a little late with posting. Please bear with me on those weeks. :)

Themes:
These will range from image provided, word themes, lyrical themes and anything else I can think of. :) If there's a theme that you would like to suggest, just comment on this post (comments are screened).

Submissions:
You may submit a maximum number of five (5) icons. They must be made "fresh" for this icontest (meaning no reusing old icons) and follow Lj's standards. When submitting, include the img src of the icon, the URL and (only the weeks when we have two themes) the theme you are submitting under.

estrella_blanca to the moderation team. After some serious lameness on LJ's notification's part we now have her to run our iContests :D Be on the lookout for those!

Ficprompts will begin again on Monday. Im still looking at a timeline for these. I would like to do them weekly, but as I nearly always work on Mondays now, I worry I will continue to forget to post them. We will see.

So, September has been busy and stressful for me. I just got promoted at work, Ive had zillions of hours and not enough time to sleep. Ive hardly had time for my own purposes as it is and it is clearly not going to be slowing down.

Ill begin posting fanfiction prompts again soon, though they may not continue to be weekly, alot of that depends on my schedule.

I am however looking for someone who wishes to take over the Icontests.
Applicants need the have/be the following:
→ Graphic savvy: as you will make the winner's banners
→ More timely than me: since you will need to post contest related posts on a set timeframe
→ Desire to moderate this community: Little moderation is really needed, but you will need to keep an eye out for things.
→ Ability to properly tag your entries! Im a huge stickler about this.

Icontests will work off of the schedule I had put in place that I havent been able to follow yet. I want the contest going on often enough to keep activity going, but spaced out far enough that this community doesnt become nothing but an Icontest.

If I get no applicants, the Icontest will be removed temporarily or permanently depending on my schedules.

Anyone interested in taking over the Icontests, comment to this post with a little bit about why you wish to take them over. Comments will be screened.

No one entered the last Icontest, so it has been cancelled. I didnt post a promptfic this week and I wont be posting one next week either. I also wont be holding the icontest for this week.

Both will return next month. Ive been feeling ill and have too many things in RL and around other online avenues to devote time to them with how ill Ive been feeling. Next week I have more hours at work than normal, so I wont have as much time to myself to mess with the online activties.

I hope to see you all participating in the upcoming ones that are held.

Once again, these will only be held through the end of the year. The last two weeks of the year I will look back at participation and they will either continue with the new year, or the community will go into a permanent dormant state. I will judge then if the revival was successful or not. Just a heads up.

And now I am off to find anti-sniffle meds. *wave* Hope everyone else is avoiding the colds these tropical storm fronts are bringing in.

I've been sitting here with this blank-ish icon for the past day now and I can't quite think of something funny to put in there for myself. So, I figured I would take requests of what you would like in the speech bubbles (if you'd like), and I'd put them up as soon as they were ready.
